Caitlin Clark’s Overtime Heroics Send Fever Past Dream

The Atlanta Dream fell short of a crucial win against the Indiana Fever on Sunday, with Caitlin Clark's overtime heroics securing a 95-91 victory for the visitors.

The two teams entered the matchup just a half-game apart in the playoff standings, with only 10 games left in the regular season. The Fever's win forces the season series against Atlanta to end tied 2-2, preventing the Dream from clinching an important head-to-head tiebreaker.

Atlanta's Allisha Gray finished the game with a career-high 32 points, but it wasn't enough to help her team secure the win. Gray had 17 points in the first half, but the Dream's momentum stalled in the second half.

The Dream had multiple chances to win the game at the buzzer, but Rhyne Howard's three-point attempt was missed, followed by close-range shots from Angel Reese and Naz Hillmon. The game went into overtime, where the Fever's Kelsey Mitchell hit a layup to extend their lead.

Mitchell's 20 points in the game also marked her 19th consecutive game with at least 20 points. Meanwhile, Makayla Timpson flew under the radar, finishing with a career-high 20 points, including key points in overtime.

Indiana's Aliyah Boston had a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Atlanta's Reese also had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Clark finished the game with 26 points, 9 assists, and 3 rebounds, securing the win for the Fever.

The Fever's win moves them to 23-12 on the season, with the fourth spot in the WNBA playoffs. They will be back in action on the road against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night.

For the Dream, the loss drops them to 21-13 on the year, but they remain the five-seed in the playoff picture. They begin a four-game road trip on Tuesday against the Las Vegas Aces, with 10 games left in the regular season.
