Schalke make €15m bid for Brighton's Buonanotte
1 in 5: the transfermarkt value of Facundo Buonanotte, a player now at the centre of a reported €15 million bid from FC Schalke 04.
Schalke have signaled concrete interest in Buonanotte, with the newly promoted Bundesliga side making a formal inquiry to Brighton & Hove Albion. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that a permanent transfer might be difficult given Buonanotte's contract runs until 2028.
Buonanotte, 21, had a disappointing loan stint at Leeds United last season. Despite drawing comparisons to Adil Aouchiche, the playmaker's form has not convinced Brighton to keep him.
A loan to Chelsea FC in the first half of last season also failed to impress. Buonanotte's subsequent six-month loan at Leeds United saw him struggle to make an impact.
Schalke's bid for Buonanotte is seen as a potential lifeline for the player, who could breathe new life into his career in the Bundesliga.
Buonanotte's contract runs until 2028, which may complicate a permanent transfer. However, other transfer models could make a deal possible.
The interest in Buonanotte has not gone unnoticed, with clubs from Italy also reportedly showing interest in the player.
