SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 Returns, WWE Swerves Fans with Brock Lesnar's Shocking Entrance
WWE fans were left stunned on Sunday when Kevin Owens made a shocking return to the ring at SummerSlam 2026 Night 2, joining a fatal four-way match against Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and Gunther.
The match was a highlight of the night, which saw several title changes, including Roman Reigns retaining the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins. Reigns won the instant classic, which ran past 40 minutes, clean and without any outside interference. The finish was a nod to Roman's dominance in the past seven years.
Reigns' victory set up a potential feud with Oba Femi, who Reigns can now likely head into before the Ruler takes the torch. Reigns' main event was an absolute showstopper, and it was the right ending.
On the other side of the card, Baron Corbin dethroned Trick Williams to become the new United States Champion. Corbin's win was the first title change of the weekend, after none occurred on Saturday.
In a thrilling Interim Women's Championship ladder match, Chelsea Green delighted the fans in Minnesota by winning the match against Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, and Lash Legend. Green climbed over the others to get to the top and claim the title.
However, the night was not without its disappointments. The Human Monies on a Pole match was criticized for being too repetitive, with Danhausen's schtick being pushed too long. The match was saved by the interference of JD McDonagh and a returning Toritohausen, who took out Dominik Mysterio on a hurricanrana and then a tope suicida to the floor.
In another match, Chad Gable defeated Penta to win the Intercontinental Championship. Gable countered a Destroyer into the ankle lock for the submission, in his hometown, with his family in the ring afterward. Penta fastened the belt around his waist himself before the crowd started a "you deserve it" chant.
Kevin Owens' return to WWE was a major talking point of the night, and it was booked to be a win. Owens had been off television for roughly 17 months with a neck injury, and the finish came on a stunner to Zayn. It sets up a challenge to CM Punk, who retained the Undisputed WWE Championship over Cody Rhodes on Saturday.
The return of Owens has raised questions about what's next for the WWE. Will he be a part of the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, or will he focus on other storylines? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – Kevin Owens is back, and he's ready to make a statement.
