Bridgewater Little League Secures Williamsport Berth
Bridgewater Little League has secured a spot in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, after winning the New England regionals.
The team, led by slugger and ace Dominik Mombeleur, defeated Maine (Gray New Gloucester) in the New England championship on Thursday, Aug. 13. This victory earned Bridgewater a trip to the World Series, where they will compete for the US championship and a world championship in the modified double-elimination tournament.
The Bridgewater roster includes players such as Eamon Hynes, Jude DeSimone, Cam Hutchinson, Dominik Mombeleur, Luke Schlatz, Jackson Morin, Anthony Sullivan, RJ Zackrison, JJ Gaff, Callan Goodwin, Tristyn Lee, Calvin McGough, and coaches Tim Zackrison, Bryan Goodwin, Joe Mombeleur, and Ryan Morin.
The Little League World Series will feature teams from the United States and around the world, with Bridgewater set to face the Metro champions on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The Metro championship is being played on Friday, Aug. 14 between New Jersey (Bayonne Central) and Connecticut (Darien) at 7 p.m. in Bristol, Conn.
Bridgewater's path to the World Series was not an easy one, with the team having won several championships, including the state championship and District 7. The team's success is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport.
The Little League World Series will be broadcast on ESPN, with games played from Aug. 19-30. The United State championship is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m., and the World championship is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30 at 3 p.m.
Bridgewater already knows what's next – they will face the Metro champions on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. on ESPN. A win would advance New England to play the Mid-Atlantic champion on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The Mid-Atlantic championship is also being played on Friday, Aug. 14 in Bristol.
