Vincenzo Grifo was born in Pforzheim to Italian parents and played for Hoffenheim, Dynamo Dresden and FSV Frankfurt before joining SC Freiburg in 2015.
After a spell at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hoffenheim, he returned to Freiburg in 2019 and became their creative leader and vice-captain, known for his free kicks, set-piece delivery and penalties. Grifo represents Italy.
