A Bowling Green State University linebacker was arrested after police say he went to another person’s apartment carrying a gun. Jonathan Goins told authorities he confronted two women whom he accused of damaging his own apartment and went to their place to discuss the matter.
The incident came to light after investigators spoke with the women involved, who said Goins did not have a key to their apartment. Details about the exact circumstances of how Goins entered the residence or whether he used the weapon have not been disclosed.
Goins was taken into custody but has since been released from jail. Bowling Green’s head coach told WTOL in Toledo, the station’s news partner, that the football program is handling the situation internally. No further comment was made by the team or university officials regarding disciplinary measures or Goins’s status with the team.
The case remains under investigation, with local authorities yet to announce any formal charges or court dates. Meanwhile, Goins’s involvement in the football squad continues to be addressed away from public view.
