FC Cincinnati will be without nine players for their upcoming Major League Soccer match against CF Montreal on September 26 due to the ongoing FIFA international window, which runs through October 6. Among those missing are three regular starters, including center backs Miles Robinson and Andrei Chirila, midfielder Pavel Bucha, and the team’s leading scorer Kévin Denkey.
Robinson, Bucha, and Denkey have been consistent contributors this season, while 18-year-old Chirila has occasionally started for Cincinnati. Their absence will pose a challenge for the club as they travel to Montreal.
Robinson rejoined the United States men’s national team camp on September 20. He is set to feature in four international friendlies during this window: against Peru on September 26, Chile on September 29, Mexico on October 3, and Canada on October 6. All matches are expected to be widely televised.
Bucha was named to the Czech Republic’s squad for the UEFA Nations League, the first roster announced by new manager Santi Denia after the World Cup. Czechia will face Croatia on September 26, England on September 29, Spain on October 3, and England again on October 6 in League A of the tournament.
Denkey will be participating in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Togo. The Sparrowhawks begin their campaign in Group I, which also includes Algeria, Zambia, and Burundi. Their first two fixtures are a home game against Burundi on September 25 and an away match at Zambia on September 29.
Chirila received a call-up to the United States Under-19 Men’s National Team for an international camp in Marbella, Spain, under new head coach Rob Valentino. The U19 side will play three matches at the Banús Football Center and Marbella Football Center during the window.
The club’s 16-year-old goalkeeper Connor Dale will also be away, having been named to the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team for an international training camp in San Pedro Del Pinatar, Spain. The camp is part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup scheduled for later this year.
Samuel Gidi is expected to join the Slovakian Under-21 national team after the Montreal match. Slovakia’s U21 squad is competing in qualifiers for the 2027 UEFA European U21 Championship. They currently sit second in their six-team group with three fixtures remaining. The top two teams from the group advance to either the final tournament or the next stage of qualifiers.
In addition to first-team absences, FC Cincinnati’s developmental squads are also affected. Deiver Mosquera of FC Cincinnati 2 has been called up to the Colombia U19 squad. Meanwhile, academy players Nick Harris and Jahiel Johnson will represent the United States at the U16 and U15 levels, respectively.
The club faces a significant test with the absence of these players during a critical stretch of the MLS season. The combination of international commitments across senior and youth levels leaves FC Cincinnati to adjust their lineup and squad depth ahead of their visit to Montreal this weekend.
