Titans’ 5 Key Takeaways from Joint Practice Against Seahawks

The Titans' offense showed significant improvement in their joint practice against the Seahawks, with Cam Ward leading the charge.

The Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks got together for a physical joint practice on Friday, and they didn’t disappoint the fans who made their way to the Vanderbilt Football Medical Center.

In a productive practice, both the offense and defense came out with purpose and appeared to take a step forward in their regular-season preparation. The Titans' offense looked efficient and strong, aside from one interception.

Cam Ward's performance was a highlight of the practice, as he bounced back from a rough week against the San Francisco 49ers. After struggling in the preseason game against the 49ers, Ward has had an impressive week and continued that against the Seahawks. Ward was efficient, and despite throwing a pick-six, bounced back with a solid performance.

According to @AlexDaugherty1, Cam Ward's final numbers for all 7 team drives were 20/26, 2 pass TD, 1 int, and sacked twice.

The Titans' secondary also had a much better outing against the Seahawks, and Alontae Taylor led the charge. Taylor was sticky in coverage and chipped in a pick-six of his own off Sam Darnold.

Alontae Taylor credits a coach for a great call for him jumping a Sam Darnold pass for a pick-6 today.

The Titans' offensive line held up well against a solid front, protecting the quarterbacks and opening holes for Tony Pollard and the other running backs against a stout defense.

Letter grade for each #Titans unit in the #Seahawks joint practice was as follows: Offense – QB B+, HB A (Pollard was a stud), WR/TE C+, OL A-, Defense (Per Sources) DL A+, LB B, CB/SAF B (Major Improvement).

The Titans had solid performances from many players in this matchup, made a much better showing than they did in their last joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers, and have shown some growth over the week.

The joint practice was a productive session for both teams, and it will be interesting to see how the Titans build on this momentum as they head into the regular season.
