5 Years Later, Michigan Lands Former All-Ivy League Guard

The Wolverines have landed former All-Ivy League guard Kenny Noland, a major signing that should bolster their chances of repeating as national champions.

Noland, who will be entering his fifth season in college basketball, spent the last four seasons at Columbia, where he started 54 out of the 55 games he appeared in for the Lions in each of the last two seasons. As a senior last year, he averaged over 17 points per game to go along with nearly four assists and one and a half steals per contest.

Noland has also shot three-pointers at a shade below 38% throughout his college career. His signing comes as a response to the transfer of guard LJ Cason, who left for Miami earlier in the offseason after former Wolverines head coach Dusty May departed for the Dallas Mavericks job.

The addition of Noland should provide a significant boost to the Wolverines' backcourt. With Cason's departure, the team was left with a void that needed to be filled. Noland's experience and scoring ability make him an ideal candidate to fill that spot.

Noland's signing is also a testament to the Wolverines' commitment to recruiting top talent. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the team's coaching staff, the athletic department has continued to prioritize bringing in the best players.

The Wolverines' chances of repeating as national champions just got a major boost. With Noland on board, the team now has the talent and depth to make a serious run at another title.

Michigan will look to Noland to make an immediate impact as the team begins its season. With the transfer portal still open, it's unclear whether the Wolverines will make any further additions to their roster.
