Tyrell Chatman, the highly touted true freshman defensive back from Penn State, may be sidelined due to an unexpected reason.

Tyrell Chatman, a 6’2″ three-star recruit, has been making waves at Penn State since his arrival. He originally committed to Northern Illinois before flipping to Iowa State, and then followed head coach Matt Campbell to Penn State when Campbell took over the program in December.
Chatman's impressive high school career saw him rack up 2,047 total yards and 26 touchdowns on offense, and 88 tackles, 21 pass breakups, and four interceptions on defense.
His senior season alone included 1,145 total yards and 15 touchdowns on offense, along with 30 tackles and 14 pass breakups on defense, earning him Omaha World-Herald Super Six honors.
Beyond football, Chatman's a legitimate track talent, which shows up on tape: he medaled in both the 400m (silver, 48.19) and 200m (bronze, 21.61) and ran sub-10.8 in the 100m.
That kind of speed is a big part of why Penn State projects him at cornerback, even after all his high school production came as a two-way athlete.
The 20th of the month is fast approaching, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next update on Chatman's status.
