Deportivo supporters have rallied behind a petition calling for a boycott of the club's upcoming friendly match against Real Madrid at the Teresa Herrera Trophy.
The Federation of Deportivo Supporters' Clubs, Old Faces, and Riazor Blues have asked fans to stay away from the stadium, citing "discriminatory" and "unfair" conditions imposed on season-ticket holders in the Lower Marathon stand.
A total of 1,000 Deportivo fans have signed the petition, which is gaining momentum ahead of the highly anticipated match.
The supporters' groups argue that the club has moved away from its traditional identity and values, and are demanding that the board reconsider the measures affecting fans in the Lower Marathon section.
They have also asked season-ticket holders not to hand over their seats for the friendly, pointing out that the game does not count towards the minimum number of matches required for season-ticket renewal from this season onwards.
In a statement, the supporters' clubs explained their stance, saying the board "is increasingly distancing itself from the essence of the club and its supporters."
The dispute comes as Deportivo prepare to welcome Real Madrid for the 81st edition of the Teresa Herrera Trophy, a highly prestigious friendly match.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have announced their squad for the match, but have left out several key players, including Yan Diomande, who was expected to make his debut for the club.
Mourinho has also decided against taking several players who only recently returned to training following their holidays, including Kylian Mbappe, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, and Aurelien Tchouameni.
