Juventus Midfielder Sandro Tonali Emerges as Lazio’s Top Target

Gennaro Gattuso's Lazio have made Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti their top target for a loan deal, reviving their interest in the 23-year-old Italian player.

Lazio have been searching for a new attacking midfielder to help implement their preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, and Miretti fits the bill. The Biancocelesti have reportedly asked Juventus about his availability, with Gattuso identifying the need for a midfielder who can operate between the lines.

Miretti has been on Lazio's shortlist for some time, but his contract with Juventus expires in 2028, and the Bianconeri would be unwilling to sell him outright. The Italian midfielder's best exploits came during his loan spell at Genoa in the 2024/25 campaign, and he could be tempted to leave Turin once again in search of a more prominent role.

Earlier in the summer, Lazio had an agreement with Jonathan Asp Jensen, but they couldn't close the deal with Bayern Munich, and the Dane eventually signed for Deportivo La Coruña. Gattuso would have loved to bring in Luka Stojkovic, but Dinamo Zagreb's asking price was too high.

Miretti's versatility and experience make him an attractive option for Lazio, but the outcome of the negotiations will depend on the Bianconeri's arrivals and outgoings. Juventus are hoping to part ways with Teun Koopmeiners, and they're tracking Franck Kessie, who could arrive as a replacement for Miretti.

The Biancocelesti's interest in Miretti highlights their need for a new attacking midfielder, and it remains to be seen if Juventus will be willing to send him on another loan spell. If Lazio can secure a deal, it would be a significant boost to their squad, but for now, the negotiations are ongoing.
