Mac Jones Sees Major Improvement on Day 10 of Patriots Training Camp

After five straight days of padded practices, the New England Patriots took a more relaxed approach on Wednesday, conducting a walkthrough during the 10th training camp session.

Efton Chism has seen a significant boost in his opportunities, particularly with the starters, following Romeo Doubs' absence. Chism has been sharing the field with A.J. Brown and DeMario Douglas, signaling that he is high on the receiver depth chart.

The practice also provided clarity on the running back depth chart. Terrell Jennings, who had been sidelined earlier in the week, returned to action and served as the third back with the starters. Lan Larison, Jam Miller, and Myles Montgomery took reps on the other field, but it appears that Jennings is now in the mix for the No. 3 spot.

Rookie cornerbacks are making an early impression. With Carlton Davis sidelined, Charles Woods has been filling in alongside Christian Gonzalez. Behind them, Karon Prunty and Channing Canada have been getting involved with the first-team defense. Prunty has been proving to be a disruptive player in some team reps.

Tight end C.J. Dippre, who had been dealing with an arm or wrist injury, was activated off the PUP list and participated in the walkthrough. This marks a significant step in his recovery.

The Patriots are still dealing with some absences, including WR Romeo Doubs, CB Carlton Davis III, TE Jack Westover, OG Caedan Wallace, and WR Cameron Dorner. However, they welcomed back FB Reggie Gilliam and TE C.J. Dippre.

The Patriots will be back on the practice fields on Thursday, Aug. 6, with the session set to begin at 10:15 a.m. ET. The practice will be closed to the public.
