The team, which captured their first Vermont state title last week, will attempt to do something a Vermont team has yet to claim: reaching the Little League World Series.
The Vermont state champions open their run at the New England Region Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 8, vs. Portsmouth, New Hampshire in Bristol, Connecticut. The winner of the modified double-elimination tournament advances to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, site of the World Series.
Camels Hump's historic season has been well-documented, with the team's win streak serving as a testament to their skill and determination. The team's roster features a talented group of players, including Benji Soltsov, Mickey Brown, Spencer Hare, and Carson Vigneault.
The Little League New England Region Tournament schedule is as follows: Saturday, Aug. 8, features Game 1: Vermont vs. New Hampshire at 10 a.m. (ESPN+) and Game 2: Massachusetts vs. Maine at 1 p.m. (ESPN+). On Sunday, Aug. 9, Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 will take place at 4 p.m. (ESPN+).
Coaches Ben Soltsov, Dan Bellerose, and Andy Barrett will lead the team in the tournament. Fans can watch the games on ESPN+ or on ESPN, with Monday's winner's bracket semifinals, Wednesday's semifinals, and Thursday's championship to be televised on ESPN.
Admissions to all games are free, and the New England regionals will be held at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, Connecticut. The address is 335 Mix Street.
