Erick All Jr. was struck by a three-wheeled truck while on vacation in Greece this summer, but the incident has surprisingly boosted his confidence ahead of the NFL season.
The third-year tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals told reporters at training camp on Thursday, July 30, that he was able to stand up with no issues after the collision, just with a scrape on his face and a new sense of confidence.
All said he was about to cross a narrow street when the driver of the vehicle struck him while trying to avoid hitting someone else. "I got up and was like, 'I'm (expletive) ready. I'm ready,'" All said, revealing that the incident had given him a significant confidence boost.
The 23-year-old tight end has had a tough time in his first two seasons in the league, missing half of his rookie season in 2024 and the entirety of 2025 after tearing his ACL in a November 2024 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has already given All a vote of confidence during his own press conference on Wednesday, July 29. "It's great to have [All] back," Burrow said. "Obviously, he had a lot going on with his knee, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him. He looks fit, fast, explosive. He'll play a big role for us this year."
All's optimism is a welcome sign for the Bengals, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 season. His ability to shrug off the incident and come out feeling confident is a testament to his mental toughness.
