Twelve fantasy basketball experts will go head-to-head in a live NBA mock draft on Thursday, October 15, at 5 p.m. ET. The event, hosted on Yahoo Sports’ fantasy basketball platform, will be streamed live on YouTube and X, offering fans a chance to watch top analysts select their squads for the 2026-27 NBA season.
The mock draft is organized by NBC Sports and RotoWorld, with Noah Rubin, Raphielle Johnson, and Zak Hanshew of RotoWorld serving as hosts. The group includes Yahoo Sports’ Dan Titus alongside eleven other industry professionals, all drafting under the traditional nine-category scoring system. Categories include field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, three-pointers made, points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and turnovers.
Participants must fill rosters with a set structure: three guards, three forwards, two centers, two utility players, and three bench spots. The draft order features Zak Hanshew, Josh Lloyd from Basketball Monster, Dan Titus, Alex Barutha of Rotowire, Adam Stock from Elite Fantasy Basketball, and a mix of other respected voices such as Dan Besbris and Adam King from Old Man Squad, Dan Palyo of RotoBaller, and George and Brian Bissell plus Raphielle Johnson and Noah Rubin from RotoWorld.
The event comes just days ahead of the NBA season tip-off on Tuesday, marking a final opportunity for fantasy managers to sharpen their strategies. Yahoo Sports promotes this mock draft as a valuable exercise, whether players have followed the league since LeBron James’ rookie year or just since his transfer to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The live stream will provide insights into expert decision-making, roster construction, and player valuations in real time. Fantasy players can observe how each expert navigates roster requirements and scoring categories, potentially influencing their own draft strategies.
As the 2026-27 NBA season approaches, this event offers a window into the minds of some of fantasy basketball’s most knowledgeable analysts. Fans and players alike can tune in to catch the draft unfold live on October 15 at 5 p.m. ET.
