Florida State baseball will meet Miami in a single game rather than a traditional weekend series in 2027, with the non-conference contest set for April 6 at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. The Seminoles announced their full 2027 schedule, revealing the adjustment to one of their longest-standing rivalries.
The Seminoles and Hurricanes, once regular opponents in twice-yearly weekend series, will now face off in a midweek game alongside Florida, which remains a three-game midweek rivalry. The Miami matchup will take place at the Yankees’ Spring Training and Single-A home stadium, marking a notable departure from the usual format.
Florida State opens its 2027 campaign at home against USC Upstate on February 19 and maintains a stretch of home weekend series through March 18-20. The ACC season begins with a road trip to North Carolina. The schedule includes no West Coast trips for the first time since Cal and Stanford joined the ACC; instead, those programs will travel to Tallahassee.
Other non-conference games include South Florida on February 23, Jacksonville on March 2 and 23, and Mercer on April 20. The Seminoles will host several ACC series against Seton Hall, Gardner-Webb, and others, with notable visits from Cal in late March and Stanford in late May.
The game against Miami at Steinbrenner Field stands out as a midweek highlight amid the ACC schedule, which features visits to Boston College, Duke, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and NC State. The Florida rivalry continues with a game in Jacksonville on March 16 and a home game on March 30, plus another road game on April 27.
The full 2027 Florida State baseball schedule reflects a shift in how the Seminoles manage their rivalry games, adding a neutral-site single game against Miami to their midweek rotation while maintaining weekend series elsewhere. The April 6 Miami game at Steinbrenner Field is the latest confirmed development in the evolving schedule.
