Nicolò Zaniolo was born in Massa, the son of former footballer Igor Zaniolo, and came through Fiorentina and Inter’s academies before Roma signed him in 2018.
At Roma he became one of Europe’s most exciting young players, scoring the winning goal in the 2022 UEFA Conference League final. Two serious knee injuries interrupted his progress. He later played for Galatasaray, Aston Villa, Atalanta and Fiorentina before joining Udinese.
Zaniolo has been capped by Italy.
